Industry Engagement

Derek is a member of the RIAI Housing Committee and regularly contributes to current debate and policy making in the area of housing and masterplanning. He is continualy engaged with the wider construction industry, RIAI and DHLGH where Derek has also sat on various stakeholder groups, provided independent research studies and helped shape and inform design standards and policy for the Dept of Housing over recent years.

Alongside these interests, he continues to explore and research through the process of design and competitions in order to challenge design and to seek out new ideas and solutions to unlock barriers to our housing eco system.

Consultancy

Collaboration is the fuel that drives our design process. We work closely with our clients, to listen, guide decision making and bring value to each project.

We have established strong relationships within the industry with access to a network of individual specialists and practices. We can advise and guide clients on other appointments as required at all stages of the process including later development and delivery stages.

We also fully embrace opportunities to collaborate with other companies and specialists where our expertise and Consultancy services are required.

Derek’s passion for architecture and master planning led to the inception of MAP Consultancy. Derek is a housing expert and has specific knowledge and expertise in housing of all scales and types including large scale, complex residential led projects.
